A CLOSER LOOK
About this project
An elevated timber deck wraps beside a log cabin, with trees and exposed ground around the building. The photographs show the deck at different stages, including its open support framing, the walking surface and the later black railing. Timber posts carry the platform above the sloping ground. From the wider angle, you can see the relationship between the upper deck and the area underneath it. The railing adds a dark outline against the warm color of the cabin logs. These views make the structure below the boards just as visible as the finished edge above them.

Looking through the photographs
The cabin wall gives you a reference point when moving between the views. The open platform photograph shows the frame before the surface covers it, while later images show boards and railing. The viewpoints change, so the slider is a comparison of stages rather than a perfectly aligned overlay. Notice the space below the platform and the way the deck edge stands above the uneven ground. Those details remain visible in the wider exterior photograph.
